Leopard shorts

I found leopard print shorts like these for $69.95 the other day in a little boutique. Pay day was yesterday so i think i may just go pick them up soon! I need to add other prints, textures and cuts to my shorts collection. I'm usually a denim short girl, but there are some really, really cute shorts around at the moment- Me likey.

Who said a belt can't be worn as a necklace?

I'm never this brown. I am beyond pale. I walked to Broadbeach on the weekend to get breakfast and my shoulders got burnt; so instead of being pale with red shoulders I thought I'd fake tan so I just looked like i spent the entire day in the sun. It worked though. I got to work yesterday and everyone thought i had just had a years worth of sun in one day. My shoulders are still red, i just hope they don't peel! They sure are itchy.

I picked up the gold belt from an Op-shop down the coast for $2. I am fond of it. It's a statement piece that I am now wearing it as a necklace as well as a belt. There's no rules against that. I feel like a pharaoh when i am wearing it- all i need now is a Nemes and I'd be set. I'm having vintage withdrawals. I haven't been in weeks! The last time i went i didn't find any gems worth bringing home. Sigh.

I spent all day doing bits and pieces/ organising my life and munching on Violet crumbles and FROGHURT. I forgot how good that stuff was until the other day. Delicious. I'm about to endeavor out into the rain. Don't question why. I already know that's an insane idea- especially with the heavy thunder I can hear.

What fun things did you get up to?

PS- Evidence of how much rain there's been is how dirty the glass on my balcony is.

Creepers

I like Creepers.

Brothel Creepers got their name because the soles were quiet and allowed people to "creep" and not be heard. I've seen enough Docs to last a life time. Don't get me wrong- I love the look, but it's time for a change! I was inspired by Agyness and Alice; So i clicked on the buy button and now they're in my shoe collection. I don't see me taking these babies off, not even to shower.

I know they tried to sneak their way back into fashion last year...I remember seeing some really cool resurrected platform creepers by Jeffrey Campbell and I'm still a big fan of Alexander Wang's Frankie Creepers.  This year i won't be too scared to rock them. I'm all for the creepers! You should be too!

Visit the online store. Jeepers Creepers- T.U.K

Obsession

An obsession with nail polish leads to always wanting more of it. Maybe it's now an unhealthy obsession.  Ahhh.

Cloud Shadow

Jeans: Neuw, Top: TigerLily, Clogs: Jeffrey Campbell, Hat: Byron Bay, Belt: Oroton, Watch: Nixon

I wish the rain would eff the hell off. It changes everything... It has been raining all week and it doesn't look like the weather is going to change for a few more days. I hate having frizzy hair and i hate when you walk under buildings and the rain drips down and gets you. BRING ON PURE SUNSHINE, NOW! I'm off to enjoy my weekend! I just thought I'd share today's outfit with you. So a little post for you! Hope you are all getting up to something fun. See-ya!

Ps: Loving Low backs on shirts, dress, singlets etc... I love showing a bit of back and I love that a lot of designers are making things with really interesting back designs!

I'm watching you

I bought a new Nixon baby. You all should know how much I love watches now!!!! So I'd like to take this chance to welcome this Nixon into my little collection I have accrued. So, I have bought a lot lately; naughty, naughty Ally. Lucky I have been working extra hard to make sure it is all paid off!

I got three parcels today and one on Monday! It's hurts my head keeping track of what's coming! You tend to forget everything you buy after you press the "buy" button....

Hope you all have a good weekend! And to all you QLD girls and boys I hope you don't get rained on at Parklife tomorrow!

Rebecca Minkoff

For some reason I am a little obsessed with seeing bleached eyebrows in editorials and on the catwalk. I think it is such a strong look, It really brings out the structure of the models face and her eyes.

Wheels and Doll Baby

I fell for this shirt on the Weekend. I don't often fall in love with clothes, but when i see something that totally has my name all over it, I make the exception.Who am I kidding? I constantly fall in love with clothes, shoes and anything pretty, basically.  Clothing is essential, so therefore you should own a lot of it. Well that's my theory anyway. Let me keep thinking it.

Wheels and Doll Baby is an Australian based label. For those who are reading and aren't aware of the label, think "Posh Punk and Parisian Scruff, to old world movie star glamour". The designer and owner of Wheels and Doll Baby, Melanie Greensmith is an absolute genius. As my mum always says "fashion always comes around full circle". And she's totally right. I'm seeing a lot of feminine shapes and 50's silhouettes around. Which is what Wheels and Doll Baby is all about.  I'm not a fan of the entire label, but i guess you get that with any brand. There's always guaranteed to be a few things you don't like or wouldn't wear. For example: They make some cool leather jackets and corset/bustiers. However i wouldn't wear the pencil skirts or capri pants- They're just not the style of clothing i like to wear. But, i still think the designs are beautiful.

The shirt above with the skulls just may be a potential purchase from General Pants; if i decide spending $200 on a cotton shirt is a good decision.

Acne S/S 2011

Calm down.

This is a tee. A tee I am fond of. It's by Ladakh- a brand i can never pronounce correctly. I like the midriff length. It has summer and the beach written all over it. The jeans I am wearing are Cheap Monday. Oh how I love Mondays. They're the hipster cut. Speaking of Cheap Monday they have some really rad summer clothes. Check out their SS 2011 show here and also check out their new catalogue too.

Nighty night. So very, very tired.

Valentino, Retrospective: Past/Present/Future

"Valentino, Retrospective: Past/Present/Future-is a major exhibition developed by the renowned institution, Les Arts Décoratifs, Paris. It explores the work of the celebrated Italian fashion house Valentino, known around the world for its sophisticated, timeless design and glamorous clientele".

Today JD and I went to Brisbane for a little adventure. It was so much fun! We went to see "Valentino, Retrospective: Past/Present/Future. OH MY GOD. I wish I could have taken them all home and displayed them as artwork in my lounge room. But there were two problems with that. A) they wouldn't all fit and B) I think it would have been a little obvious to all the security guards at the gallery. I think they would have spotted the immense amount of sequins and organza fabric under my t-shirt as i walked awkwardly. After all they did notice my water bottle when I entered the gallery.

The exhibition showcased Valentino's first collection designed in 1959 through to work from the A/W 09–10 collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli (designers of Valentino since 2008). It was so amazing to see all the dresses/ coats/ pants/ tops. They were all incredibly well made and would have taken a crazy amount of time to complete and so, so, so much hand sewing would have gone into each piece. It made me admire his work even more. Basically every design was perfect. If there was something i didn't like about one of the dresses I managed to find another way to fall in love with it. There really wasn't anything i could fault about his work. Actually, maybe just the price!

You should definitely go and see all the amazing designs. It is at the GoMA (Brisbane) until November 14th 2010.

NB: Where I showed you my favourites- There were so many more but i thought it was a bit much to show everyone of them!

Hope you all had a good weekend! Mine was awesome! Good times.
