I feel the air rising above your touch
I can definitely feel a change in the air here in Queensland. However, you only need to travel 40 minutes south and you will get a rather refreshing surprise. It's amazing! Enough about boring weather, I'm sure if you wanted to hear about current weather you would look up a news site, not my blog.
I found this gorgeous vintage dress somewhere between here and Coffs Harbour. I have lost the exact place in my mind, as all my vintage finds merge in to one now, because of the extensive buying trips I do for Who Killed Bambi.
These ankle boots I have had for over a year now and I love them more than ever. The mustard and neon goodness seems to go with basically all the colourings in my wardrobe. I haven't really spent much on clothes lately, I haven't really seen anything I have absolutely adore enough to make it a feature in my wardrobe. So, you can imagine the joy I get out of not falling out of love with pieces I already own.
My best friend's mum, Sandie has started making one of a kind purses/clutches out of beautiful fabrics! They're stunning to say the least. They come in a range of colours, and no two purses/clutches are the same. Sandie hand makes all her pieces so you know what you're getting is made with care and love. You can see more of them here, on the Elamaya facebook. I am absolutely loving the fabric she personally picked for me. It's the perfect pop of colour for this outfit!

Dream it, Wish it, Do it
So following on from my post about throwing things out, decluttering and re-vamping things around my office I thought I would recycle some cardboard I was going to throw out and an old frame.
It's so simple that the steps should be a given... however I shall tell you my approach. The outcome is so rewarding when the project is so quick.
1// Either buy some cardboard or recycle some of that scrap you might be about to throw out. Go on save a tree. Measure it to the FULL size of the frame and then cut it to size.
2// Pick your favourite quote, lyrics etc and write it down. The messier the better. It's a kind of "in the moment piece", so go crazy, we don't want any of that in between the lines shit. Also, if we did we'd go and by a print.
3// Blu-tac the cardboard to the frame, and then the frame to the wall. It's a nicer approach than hammering nails in to the wall.
4// Voila. 2 minute project, which can give you endless hours of joy and inspiration for those days you really need it.
5// If you get sick of that quote why not take another moment in a month or so and replace it with a new one, or another cute idea would be a letter or drawing from a loved one (after all they're the words/ illustrations that should be on show)

A cleaner space
Yesterday Jonathan and I decided to go through all our stuff and throw out things we hadn't used in 6 months. This included clothes, magazines, paperwork etc. All the usual clutter in anyone's house. We only wanted to keep the things we used regularly - the "essentials". It's hard to do this, but after you have conquered your mess, you will feel so liberated. TRUST ME.
I have found that when your house and in my case work space (as I work from home) is cluttered it is very difficult to get through daily tasks. Sometimes it's almost overwhelming. So remember: A cluttered space is a cluttered mind.
Here's some of my tips that helped me out yesterday...
1// GOAL: Give yourself a goal. I wanted to clean out the study/ Who Killed Bambi office. I wanted to file relevant paper work and throw out random junk I hadn't used in the past six months. Make sure you give yourself a designated spot for things - this will help in the long run.
2// VISUALISE: I like to take a moment to take a look at a room, and think about how I want it to look by the time I finish. Yesterday we moved around furniture, we bought new things to place around the house and figured out what the essential pieces were for each room. Anything that wasn't deemed "essential" got thrown out.
3// DONATE: We dontated three massive garbage bags of clothes yesterday to Lifeline. Knowing that someone is going to benefit from things you're just holding on to and haven't worn in ages is a great feeling. If you haven't worn something in six months, chances are you're not going to wear it in another six months, so why not give it to someone who NEEDS it.
4// LOVE: Learn to love a minimalistic look. Make this your standard. My goal is to keep my desk like my photos above. For me, it is so easy to pile paperwork on the left hand side and leave it there for a month. Now at the first sign of that I am going to get.rid.of.it!!
I feel so much better having thrown out non-essential items, and I feel silly that I held on to many things thinking I would need them one day. Trust me, you won't even remember you had it once it's gone.

Numerology Series
A few months back I was asked by photographer and designer Camille Nathania to take part in her Numerology Exhibition Series.
We met up and had a long chat while we took some photos of me (with every man and his dog, child and wife looking)! It was a fun project to be a part of.
Camille's idea behind her project: "The Numerology series concentrates on nine creatives, all of whom are active within their industries, passionately striving to produce better work, influencing the industry in their very own way". We were all given a number between 1-9, the number we ended up with was dependent on what date our birthday fell on. My birthday is the 25th of March - 2+5=7, therefore I am a 7.
Camille describes me as a cheerful, gentle, spiritual, dreamer. Which, I guess sums me up quite nicely. I am always happy, I have big dreams, I am gentle (I don't like confrontation or drama in my life).
Thanks so much for letting me be a part of your exhibition Camille. It was fantastic.

And you've got the faith, that I could bring paradise
A recent purchase - Steve Madden glitter/studded loafers ( Similar here). They've been such a great investment so far. I have worn them nearly everyday since I bought them. They got me through my recent Sydney trip too - with no blisters in sight. Halle-bloody-lujah. Have a good weekend guys! Ally XX
